In life we are born in harness and we pull dead weight all our lives until we die.
For many of us life is a constant struggle to break the tug lines and run free.
Many of us do.
Many don't.
Then there are those who choose a life of work, throwing their weight into the collar and digging their hooves into the earth.
This a life of purpose and of duty.
It is not a life of glamour or one of material wealth.
It is a life of giving ones all accepting little in return.
Those who choose this life are selfless and humble.
They take no credit, though society is built from their sweat.
There is honor in this life.
Today horses taught me not to seek fame, fortune, or leisure, but a simple honor in a day of hard work well done.
